Some take it very very seriously and others take it in a more light-hearted way, even to the extent of being blasé about the whole thing. Perhaps they are not really conscious of what is charging up behind them.
This morning, at the running of the bulls with the Miura bulls, a runner jogged across the City Hall square with his arms on high, waving at the crowd, as if he were some kind of sports hero. He seemed totally unaware of the fact that a bull was coming up fast from behind. Just at the end of the square, the Miura bull grazed his waist with its horns. Perhaps that was the moment that the runner realized that he had just missed being seriously gored by the proverbial couple of inches.
