The Victorianos, just some blows

Just three runners received treated after suffering contusions and bruising in today’s running featuring the Victoriano del Río bull-breed. These bulls covered most of the course in close formation and only caused some blows with their horns but no gorings

The Victoriano del Rio bulls have consistently produced very fast runnings in their three previous participations and today was no exception. Today’s running took only 2 min. 14 sec. and it has been the fastest running so far of this Sanfermin 2013 and the fastest yet made by this bull-breed.
The bulls generated several moments of danger as they knocked over runners but on no occasion did they gore them with their horns. Several runners received hard blows from the passing horns but luckily, no open wounds were caused.
The pack of bulls ran tightly together all along the length of the course, making it difficult to get close in front of their horns for the runners. One of the bulls slipped at the final stretch of the course at Telefónica, which meant the finish took some 8 seconds longer to complete and creating some moments of tension as the bull headed for the entrance to the arena alone.
This very fast running left just two runners needing hospital treatment for contusion, one of these being taken from the Santo Domingo stretch and the other one from the final stretch leading into the bullring
