Today was the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Sanfermin program of activities from the Hotel Maisonnave, with a special invitation for Anna Nelubova, the painter, who is holding an exhibition of some of her work at the hotel this year.
The Hotel program includes its traditional chat on The Running of the Bulls, chaired by Javier Solano, each morning after the event has been completed. In “Caravinagre” Street, outside the premises, there will be brass bands and other music on offer. It is also worth taking note of the culinary fare on offer with tasty tit-bits and sandwiches from the Caravinagre and Arbizu fried eggs from the Trastienda. In addition, this year there will be a special homage paid on the 8th of July for the Txistularis flute and drum players from Tolosa to celebrate their hundred years of continual attendance at Sanfermin – that is to say, every year since 1913.
Our guiri-of the-year award winner, Anna Nelubova, will present her exhibition under the title “Instante” with drawings and photos on show in the salón de las tertulias room at the Hotel from the 6th to the 14th of July, from 12:00 to 15:00 p.m. According to what she tells us, there is absolutely no bullfighting tradition or knowledge in Russia of this art and she would like to be able to inform them in this aspect through the creation of cultural groups. She also made it very clear to us that, although she is a passionate lover of the fighting bull, she would never take part in The Running of the Bulls.
