Having analysed the conclusions of the members' work group which has been studying the event recently, they are concerned about the current state of the bullrun. They aim to draft a set of effective proposals based on the results.
The work group has arrived at five conclusions. The first defines the bullrun as just another part of the fiesta. Three large problems have been identified: the ignorance of many runners regarding the run, the evolution of the event into a mass event and a loss of respect. The second conclusion is that participation should be voluntary, spontaneous and limitless. The third point that the work group highlights is that running in the bullrun should be anonymous and without financial interest. They also state that they do not understand public and private bodies' current tendency to exploit the run as some kind of show. They also underline that there is a municipal ordinance which regulates participation in the event, but that it is not fully applied. Finally, they warn that the problems suffered by the bullrun distance the younger members of our society from it, thereby placing such a personal tradition of ours at risk.
That is why they call on the population and the media to attend a free, participatory debate with the following agenda: disinformation and ignorance regarding the Bullrun; the anonymity of the runners and the media; the massive scale and safety on the route; infractions and complaints; Other matters regarding the Bullrun and any other business.
