Johnny Bravo, también estuvo en Sanfermin

Thanks to Daniel González (in twitter @Gascaphenia) we have discovered this reference to Sanfermin which we now share with you. Johnny Bravo is a kind of cult cartoon series from The USA which was first launched in 1997 and which came to a close in 2004. In its fourth edition during its first season (1997) “Did you see a bull run?”, the narration is set in the Sanfermin fiestas. There are some images of the jam-packed streets (simulating the atmosphere of the opening day chupinazo in Pamplona and also a reference is made to the running of the bulls. However, it is in the bullring that we see the hero fighting against a bull for the love of a girl. The description of that particular program is recognized by the Cartoon Network Channel itself as it locates the scene specifically in Pamplona and within the running of the bulls event.

This is yet another example of how the running of the bulls and the Sanfermin fiestas has penetrated the imagination of the world in a wide range of artistic and cultural references and in this case, within a cartoon show that has a worldwide audience. The series was created by Van Partible although the particular chapter about Pamplona is directed by Rumen Petkov with a script from Michael Ryan and Bunce Barry.
