San Fermin Band

The Pamplona Running of the Bulls in Sanfermin fiestas has become a source of inspiration for the revelation band of 2013 in Nueva York. Indeed, so much so, that the group has baptized itself with the name, San FermínEllis Ludwig-Leone, Singer and composer of the band stated at Earbudy.net that he did it because he like the “spirit of all or nothing” which is characteristic of the Pamplona bullrunning and the idea of people putting their lives in danger so as to feel more alive.

The band was founded by the composer and singer Ellis Ludwig-Leone, who wrote an album in just six week soon after finishing his music studies at the University of Yale, with the help of his childhood friends Allen TateJess Wolfe and Holly Laessig de Lucius.

This first album from the band focusses on classic themes of life such as youth, nostalgia, anxiety and unrequited love. “Many of the concepts in the album were things with which I was obsessed and concerned with at that moment. I am not the kind of person who would take risks with my life. I would be very surprised to find myself ever running the bulls”, said Ellis.

San Fermin will be in The USA this coming spring and later the band will travel around Europe on a two-week tour before they start to work on their second album. The band has received excellent reviews for its style from the main musical media outlets and from popular acclaim all over the world. They work carefully on their videos and recordings. Playing live they are constantly very entertaining. Their producers are Downtown Records.
