Enrique Ponce: silence and two ears and carried out on shoulders. Pepín Liria: one ear and polite handclapping. Arguably the best bull-fight of the San Fermin Bull Fair 99. Matadors managed to perform good faenas and recieved their rewards. Gutiérrez Lorenzo bulls, though they lacked strength, were fit enough for the show. Reappearance of the Colombian matador César Rincón, after one year without fighting. He showed that his is recovering his quality: he got one ear and was about to get a second one. Enrique Ponce didnt fight propperly with his first bull but he cut two ears to his second and was carried out of the bull-ring on the aficionados shoulders. José Tomás, who had announced his being unfit for the bull-fight, was substituted by matador Pepín Liria, who cut one ear to his first bull and was rewarde with a polite handclapping after his second faena.
