Juan Pedro Lecuona, from Pamplona, starred in one of the longest, most spectacular runs of the Sanfermin fiestas. Showing impressive physical form, he was able to run two hundred meters in front of the Osborne bulls.
Lecuona started his run in Estafeta just before the intersection with Tejeria Street. From this point, he ran close to the bulls and by the time he reached Telefónica he found space just in front of the horns of five bulls running in a compact pack.
From Telefoníca until the entrance to the bullring he maintained a distance of no more than three meters in front of the bulls and even inside the ring he completed half of the arena until he pulled aside to allow the bulls to head towards the pens.
Beside the graphic showing the complete run, a succession of photos show some moments from Lecuona’s run. He is a habitual runner in the Telefoníca stretch and, thanks to the Osborne bulls, he enjoyed one of his best ever runnings of the bull.
