The New Yorker injured in the bullring when the young bulls were released continues in a serious state

Ray Ducharne is a 31 year-old born in North Carolina and he is in a paraplegic state due to an injury to his vertical column

The 31 year-old man, resident in New York, was injured after the running of the bulls when the young calf bulls were released into the bullring. According to hospital sources he continues in a very serious state. Ray Ducharne is in a paraplegic condition due to an injury to his cervical column at a height of C-6 and C-7.

It would seem, according to the local Diario de Navarra newspaper, that the young American arrived to Pamplona last Thursday along with six other friends after having been visiting several other cities on their holiday. They have rooms in a downtown hotel and all are very upset about the extent of their friend’s injury.

Ducharne suffered a heavy blow inside the bullring when the young calf bulls were released and he was first given treatment in the surgery at the bullring before being taken to hospital where he remains in the Intensive Care Unit.
