The eighth and final running of the bulls of Sanfermin 2003, with bulls of the Torrestrella breed, was very exciting and dangerous as the two bulls who had been taking up the rear of the pack became separated and ran alone from Estafeta all the way to the bullring. The run lasted some four minutes and concluded with two injured from gorings, one of them -the american guy- seriously injured. These were taken to the hospital centers of Iruñea-Pamplona along with four other injured runners.

In line with their fame for being a dangerous breed of bull, the Torrestrella bulls ensured that the final running of this year’s Sanfermin was a very dangerous one, but, luckily, as the number of runners participating had significantly dropped, only two runners received gorings.

The pack had charged out of the pen and run up Santo Domingo in a compact group until one black bull charged ahead of the others and led them by some meters all the way to the bend at Mercaderes. Just before entering the bend this bull slipped and slid against a runner knocking him against the fencing. However the runner got up unscathed. Two other piebald bulls coming behind slipped and wedged two runners...
