Dangerous and electrifying
|

The seventh Sanfermin running of the bulls, with bulls from the Eduardo Miura breed, was a dangerous and electrifying run, where the Miura bulls ran somewhat out of character and made some charges at the crammed crowd of runners that packed the route of the run. The run lasted three minutes and finished up with one person being gored and seven others taken to the Iruņea-Pamplona hospitals.
The bulls came out of the pen at Santo Domingo tightly tucked in behind the bell-oxen and, something not frequent in these Miura bulls, a bull on each side of the pack quickly shaped to make some charges at the runners on each side of them. Some runners found space to run in front of the horns and as they raced into the City hall square one of the bulls moved ahead of the pack. This bull slipped up and fell against one of the runners at the Mercaderes curve. Here the rest of the pack broke up and the bulls ran in separate groups up Estafeta street. There were some moments of danger here with lots of falls due to the large number of runners and the presence of the rear bull who got separated from the others and ran alone all the way into the bullring.
