As was to be expected with the start of the weekend, the sixth Sanfermin running of the bulls was jam-packed with runners who ran with the Dolores Aguirre breed of bulls and which finished up with two runners injured from gorings and five other injured were also taken to the hospitals of the Navarran capital.
The pack came out of the Santo Domingo pen in an integral group with the bulls tightly grouped behind the bell-oxen and stayed this way until they got half-way up the stretch. A black bull suddenly moved ahead of the pack and caused moments of great danger as it charged against various runners. Entering the City Hall stretch the bull tossed one runner up in the air. This young man received a goring to his right thigh and he suffered a heavy blow to the head when he fell to the ground.
The pack stayed grouped quite well until entering Mercaderes where the leading bull slipped up before reaching the bend and caused two other bulls coming behind to stumble and fall. The pack was loosened and another bull slipped at the entry to Estafeta and the bulls ran in splintered groups for the rest of the run.
