Panic at Mercaderes

The fourth running of the bulls of this year’s Sanfermin fiestas, with bulls from the Jandilla breeder, was run at a very fast pace, 4min.30 sec., and there were several moments of danger on some of the stretches (Santo Domingo and at the entrance to the bullring). The final tally of injured is made up of three runners who received gorings, and seven other people who were also taken to the two Pamplona hospitals.
As tends to be the case with the Jandilla bulls, the running took place at a very fast pace and caused several moments of danger, especially on the first stretch of the run and at the entrance to the bullring.
The pack raced out at a very fast pace from the pen at Santo Domingo and immediately a reddish-colored bull raced ahead and was shortly followed by one of the black bulls and they knocked over a number of runners, two of whom received jabs from the horns. At the stretch of the City Hall Square these two bulls led the pack and some runners fell to the ground unable to keep up with the pace of the bulls. At the bend of Mercaderes the reddish-colored bull and the black one both slipped up and one runners who was close to the horns of another oncoming bull...
