For the nineth consecutive year, the creative director of Kukuxumusu, Mikel Urmeneta is responsible for designing the image of the front page of the Diario de Noticias newspaper. While last year Ketchup and Mustard were the main ingredients of the design, this year it is different-colored necklaces that have been used to create the front page of the newspaper.
The idea was to use a typical party element to shilouette the City Hall, txupinazo rocket and wild crowd scene all against the blue sky," explains Urmeneta. He is always ready to try out new techniques in his creations. In this case, he got some classic glass necklaces from the street market and street sellers. These pieces have been used to create the image which, in addition, had a curious preparation board: " It was prepared in the kitchen of my own house, on the washing-machine, an appliance which is very much put to work during the fiestas of Sanfermin."
The montage, once it ha been photographed and after getting an opportune retouching with a image-editing program, is now on the front page of the newspaper, under the surprised eyes of its readers.
