The second-last bullfighting afternoon of Sanfermin 2010, proved to be an entertaining afternoon for the bull fans and a grateful one for the bullfighters, especially for El Fandi. This matador was carried out of the bullring shoulder-high after a good fight with his first bull which earned him a merited award of one ear. The second ear was a generous gesture on the part of the president, but everyone seemed happy with the gesture.
The El Pilar bulls lived up to expectation, although without being particularly brilliant. Both of the other two matadors did nothing special and were left almost empty-handed. El Cid, seems to have left his best fighting years behind him. He was awarded an ear but he could have done more. He finished off his second bull with a fine thrust. As for Miguel Tendero, there was simply no reaction. Silence and silence. There was no request made from the crowd on his behalf and so The President did not see any need to award anything.
This afternoon will see the final batch of fights of this year, with the presence of El Juli, subdued by a goring to his scrotum on Monday when he fought. However, he has decided to come out again today. He will be accompanied by Sebastián Castella and Miguel Angel Perera. The three matadors will fight Jandilla bulls.
