The Jandilla bull-ranch became the protagonists of the Sanfermin 2010 runnings of the bulls. Once again this year they confirmed that they are one of the most dangerous bull breed and that they cause a high number of gorings compared to some other breeds and indeed, injuries in general. Last year there was the shocking behavior of a bull by the name of "Capuchino "from this same bull-breed that caused the young runner from Madrid, Daniel Jimeno to lose his life on the streets of Pamplona. And this year, another of its bulls, by the name of "Gavioto", caused the most anxious moments of all the runnings and who gored several runners in this morning's running of the bulls.
Up until the final day of the 14th the runnings of the bulls this year were more or less reasonably quiet affairs and proving to be very fast runs. Only five runners in total had received a going and two of the runnings the one on the 12th with the Victoriano del Río -which was making its debut in Pamplona- and the one on the 13th with bulls from the El Pilar bull-ranch -in only their second appearance in Pamplona were among the fastest ever runs with times of 2:17 and 2:14 respectively. Very close to the fastest ever that of 8th of July 1998 and featuring bulls from the Conde de la Corte bull-ranch. (the fastest run ever recorded at 2:12 since records were kept since 1980).
But the Jandilla, living up to their fearful fame, have once again upset the statistics in the running of the bulls of the 14th and they have featured in the most dangerous and with the most injuries of this year's runnings of the bulls. They have filled the hospitals of Pamplona once again, with four gorings and six more taken away for hospital treatment.
In total, this year's runnings of the bulls have resulted in a total of nine runners suffering gorings and 29 others with different injuries and bruising.
