Shoulder high on horseback

07/07/2009. The horse-riding bullfighters, Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza and Sergio Galán triumphant after the first bullfight of the fiestas

Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza and Sergio Galán were given a triumphant shoulder-high exit parade from the Pamplona bullring after being respectively awarded three ears and a tail and 2 ears in a triumphal bullfighting afternoon for both horse-riding bullfighters.

Hermoso de Mendoza was brave in front of his first bull and he was awarded an ear. With his second bull he reached perfection and was awarded two ears and a tail and the gates of the bullring were opened in triumph for him. His horses, Silveti and Caviar, delighted the crowd who acclaimed the expertise of this local rider from Estella (Navarra). Meanwhile, the other rejoneador, or horse-riding bullfighter, Sergio Galán did not disappoint the crowd either and he was awarded two ears, although he suffered the disappointment of having his two horses wounded by the horns of the bulls.
