Pamplona pays homage to Daniel Jimeno

In spite of the festive atmosphere reigning in the city, the young man, Daniel Jimeno, continues to be in the thoughts of all the citizens of Pamplona. All through yesterday, different events were organized to pay homage to the young runner killed in the fourth running of the bulls of this year's Sanfermin fiestas after receiving a fatal goring from the bull, "Capuchino". A moment of silence was kept in the bullring in his honor and then three trumpeters from the Peña Alegría de Iruñea brass band played a moving rendition of "Il silencio". In addition, the mass for the Old Folks held every year in the in the chapel of San Fermín, was this year offered in memory of the dead runner.

Likewise, hundreds of citizens are approaching the fencing post with the number 62 painted on it - the exact spot where the fatal goring took place - to place a red necktie in his memory.
