The 43 year-old man from Pamplona, P.T.L., who suffered gorings to his thorax and also to his thigh at the Telefónica stretch, remains confined to the ICU of the Hospital de Navarra, and he is making favorable progress within the gravity of his situation. Meanwhile the 56 year-old man from Calahorra (La Rioja), J.M.G., who suffered a goring to his neck at the Mercaderes stretch, was yesterday afternoon removed from the Intensive Care Unit and admitted to ward in the Hospital Virgen del Camino and he is making favorable progress.
Besides these two seriously-injured runners there are another eleven people who remain confined to hospital; four of them in the Hospital de Navarra and another seven in the Hospital Virgen del Camino in Pamplona, after the total of eight runnings of the bulls of Sanfermin 2009
The following injured are in the Hospital de Navarra:
- E.S.P., A North-American from Texas, aged 66, who suffered a hemothorax in the running of the 10th. He has now been removed from the ICU and is in ward where he is making satisfactory progress.
- I. A., a 29 year-old from la Rioja, who suffered lung contusion on the Telefónica stretch on the 13th of July. He is making satisfactory progress in the ward.
- G.G., a 50-year-old from Scotland, suffered a skull fracture in the Mercaderes stretch and his condition is favorable.
- C.M., a 35 year-old from Texas (United States), who suffered a broken ankle on the Mercaderes stretch. His condition is fair.
In addition, the following runners were admitted to The Hospital Virgen del Camino:
-S.O.A., a 20 year-old from London, who received a goring to his left thigh, at the entrance leading into the bullring, in the running of the bulls of the 10th of July. He is making favorable progress.
-C.G.A., a 27 year-old from Lebrija (Seville), injured on the 10th of July, when he suffered a goring to his right thigh. He is progressing favorably.
-A.I.P.L. a 51 year-old from Pamplona, who suffered a goring on the 12th of July, at the City Hall stretch to his forearm. His condition is fair. He remains in the Traumatology Unit.
-T.S.A., a 32 year-old from Madrid who suffered a goring on the 12th of July, in the Estafeta stretch, to the inside of his right thigh. His condition is fair.
