Jandilla, after five year

10/07/2009. The Young man, Daniel Jimeno Romero, is the first runner to die from a goring from a Jandilla bull.

The Jandilla bulls once again created terror in this fourth running of the bulls of Sanfermin 2009. This bull-breed is one of the most feared by the runners and the one which has caused the most injuries over these last few years, and today they brought about the death of a young man from Madrid, Daniel Jimeno Romero. There were also three other gorings and another eight runners suffering diverse traumatisms, who were all taken off to Pamplona's two public hospitals this morning.

On the 12th of July, 2004 the Jandilla bulls caused one of the most dangerous running of the bulls of recent times with eight gorings and ten other runners suffering from diverse traumatisms. The running of the bulls on the 10th of July 2003 also saw three runners gored and on the 11th of July, 2005, there were four gorings. Over the last 11 years the Jandilla bulls have caused a total of 23 gorings, but up to today, there had never been any fatal gorings from this bull-breed.

The last time that there was a fatality in the running of the bulls, took place in 2003 when a bull from the Cebada Gago bull-ranch gored a runner. There is no doubt that today's running of the bulls will forever be considered a sadly historical one as it is the first time that this bull-breed has ever gored a runner to death.
