The Red Cross dealt with 214 cases during the Sanfermin fiestas, according to their web page. Of these, 153 required removal to some hospital centre and 73 cases dealt with ethylic intoxication. Last year the figure was 231 cases in total and of these, 64 were for problems deriving from the consumption of alcohol.
The worst day was the 6th where a total of 34 people were treated. The 9th was the quietest day with only 15 needing attention. The remaining days saw a figure of 20-odd cases.
With regard to the running of the bulls, The Red Cross treated a total of 457 people. Of these, 348 were males and 109 were females. Of all the cases, 173 were younger than 25 years of age.
