The 2010 Sanfermin Video Competition was declared void as the jury felt that none of the entries were up to standard to merit the first-prize of 3000 euro. And the fact is that the winners of the two first years of this competition in 2008 and in 2009, Francisco Pradilla and Jenny Benedicto -respectively-, set a high level for this competition with their entries San Freakmin and Ya falta Menos, both cartoon entries inspired in the fiestas of Sanfermin and in the running of the bulls.
In this present year, with the third edition of the video competition, the number of participants notably increased, especially entries with videos captured by cell phones. Obviously, these kinds of video have less post-production work and more realism, but none of them were able to attain a level demanded for this kind of competition. In the Rules and Regulations set out in Sanfermin.com there is a section on the prizes which includes a sub-section which reads "Kukuxumusu reserves the right to declare the competition null and void when none of the entries reach the criteria set by the jury".
