The wish to recreate the partying scene of the Sanfermin fiestas and the magic element of the running of the bulls has meant that several imitations have appeared around the world. The "Sanfermin" that gathers the largest crowds is the one held in New Orleans or Nola Bulls as it is called and which attracts some 8000 participants. Down there Padrino Mickey and his gang have even created a procession with an imitation of San Fermin himself and they have a "running of the bulls" of roller skaters with horns. The partying is wild and all the action seems to start and end in the bars, so that makes the similitude and such all the more creditable.
It is clear that the essence of an imitation of Sanfermin must include a running of the bulls or do something along the same lines with the same spirit. One of the most famous ones that has been going on now for a decade or so is the Annual Running of the Bulls! Which is held in Palo Alto, California. This is a five kilometer run and the people dress up in Sanfermin gear and with bull paraphernalia. You can also find in The USA the Dewey Beach Running of the bulls in Delaware. They have been repeating this annual event for the past fifteen years and this is organized by a bar called the Starboard. Recommended by the Washington Post travel guide, it has the advantage that the run is held along a beach and the bull is a stuffed animal.
