qué PENA DE AMIGOS (WHAT A TROUPE OF FRIENDS)

This Peña club regularly visit Pamplona in Sanfermin. Many of them are Pamplona-born but who work abroad. One of the founders is Manfred Walloschke, who received the Kukuxumusu "foreigner of the year" award in 2007. They can be recognized by their neckties and a badge with a large "A" on it which symbolizes the Peña club.

They make a play on words by writing PENA on their banner as in -PENA DE AMIGOS (without the Ñ) and with a small "que" in front. Figuratively speaking, they might make you feel some "pity" watching them having such a great time of it during the fiestas.
