A poster for the tee shirt of the year, a misunderstanding with Pamplona City Hall and an indemnity

In 1991 Mikel Urmeneta entered the poster competition with this design (which later went on the tee shirts) but he failed to win and the award went to Vicente Marcos a man from Alicante. Kukuxumusu once again made a request to use the poster image on their tee shirts and once again City Hall refused.

The Drawing Factory got in touch with Vicente Marco and they asked him for a drawing in his characteristic style so as to put it on their tee shirts. The City Hall accused Kukuxumusu of plagiarism and brought legal proceedings against them. As a result, temporary measures were taken to impede the distribution of the tee shirts.

This situation only lasted two days. Vicente Marcos had been invited by Kukuxumusu to the Sanfermin fiestas and he promptly went to court and stated his case and the embargo was lifted without delay. City Hall had to compensate the Drawing Factory and the following year the commercialization of the Sanfermin poster on diverse backgrounds was allowed.
