Mikel de resaca, otra vez
Mikel Urmeneta organizes a meal on the 6th of July to which all and sundry turn up. If he survives the session he then turns up all over the place, whether he be host or guest at all kinds of different events. He might be seen with Mister Testis, with some "guiri" foreigners, taking photos of the running of the bulls, at the bull ring, writing a blog for Elpais.com sharing his experiences at his mythical section "From the Front Line/ From behind the lines" for Sanfermin.com. He enjoys the whole Sanfermin experience except for the Pobre de Mi event which brings the curtain down on the fiestas.
Over the nine days of partying Urmeneta can be seen not only on the street at any time of day or night but also on TV as he is usually invited to several different programs over these days, particularly the nationwide program hosted by his friend Andreu Buenafuente. He has recorded a dokumentary and from time to time he threatens to repeat that experience. He somehow finds time to appear on the same day at an early morning drinks session, at a mid-morning brunch and at a late night dinner in whatever hangout around the city. In Sanfermin there is no stopping Urmeneta.
