Twenty years of partying

Kukuxumusu edits sanfermin.com, designs tee shirts for the partying, and they also manage to have fun and make fun at the same time

Its close relationship with Sanfermin goes quite a long way back. Ever since 1989 Kukuxumusu dedicates a part of itself to generating new ideas and drawings towards having and making some fun during the Sanfermin fiestas. Each year it launches a new collection of tee shirts with which to dress the city in red and white and display some blue bulls in all their naturalness. Each year it also celebrates a Guiri Day during the fiestas where it chooses a foreigner who has stood out for their love of the fiestas.

Kukuxumusu regards Sanfermin from many different approaches. Through the new technologies for example; The Drawing Factory has created a special count-down clock which tells us at any moment how long until the next Sanfermin fiestas. This clock counts backwards and reminds the more impatient of us that "there is not long to go". It has also created screensavers with flying bulls or even swimming ones. It has a radio which exclusively broadcasts Sanfermin music. It has even created a computer-based computation of the risks involved in taking part in the running of the bulls.

One of Kukuxumusu's latest contributions has been the creation of Sanfermin.tv, a TV channel through the Internet which broadcasts the txupinazo opening rocket of the fiestas, the running of the bulls, the partying in all its essence, Mr. Testis in the bull ring and all the rest that goes on between the 6th and the 14th of July every year.

A good deal of what Kukuxumusu does and undoes during Sanfermin is due to the warped mind of Mikel Urmeneta; a guy who finds the time to drink of the fiestas in quantity even as he continues pondering other actions with which to create enjoyment and fun.
