The young heifers

Each morning after the bulls have been brought safely into their pen in the bullring, some young heifers are released into the arena for the amusement of the runners and the spectators within the bullring. These animals are small but very frisky, and their horns are heavily padded. If not, it could be dangerous as they tear around charging into everything that moves. As the very least, a charge from them will take the wind out of you and perhaps even cause some bruising although normally they won`t cause any serious damage. (People can occassionally get wounded, but more from bad luck than anything else).

There are usually four of them released each morning one by one. The idea is to swerve and dodge out of the way of their charges as quick as you can. Something which is often not easily done. Grapping hold of them is not allowed and when it happens the culprit often suffers the consequences from the irate crowd. If you feel it sounds like the right kind of fun for you, then go ahead and enjoy yourself.
