Each morning the workmen can be heard hammering and sawing wood as the fencing begins to be laid down. Santo Domingo Street where the running of the bulls commences, gradually takes on an appearance quite distinct to that which it has throughout the rest of the year. This year 900 poles and 1800 crossbeams will be used on the fencing as it gradually gets laid down, day by day right up to the 6th of July. Three workmen from the Carpentry Firm of Aldaz Remiro de Puente will be responsible for laying down the fencing all along the route over the next month, according to Mr.Iñigo Aldaz.
The fencing adds some excitement to the streets of Pamplona over these coming days and it reminds us that there is not long to go now for the fiestas to begin.
