Foreign exchange

The banks will usually change dollars or any other of the big currencies without any problem. But less well-used currencies could have problems.

The euro is the currency in use. The banks and savings banks open in the mornings. More or less, from 9.00 to 1.00. There are also lots of automatic cash points in the streets which issue money from debit or credit cards such as Visa, Master, Maestro, American Express, etc.

The credit cards such as Mastercard, Visa, and American Express are generally accepted in many shops, restaurants and hotels.
