Ah yes, the famous icon of the Patron Saint of Pamplona. We all know him well and how we revere him. He is popular and just ask anybody who visits Pamplona; he will be instantly recognised.
Stand up San Saturnino.
I said, San Saturnino.
You thought I said San Fermín?
Here's a thought. Go onto Google and type "Patron Saint of Pamplona" and any one of hundreds of sites will tell you that San Fermín is the Patron of Pamplona. But they would be wrong, and this is yet another one of those problems with the visitors to Pamplona that they don't actually bother to find out the truth, they just assume. But hey, don't let the truth get in the way of a good story.
Poor old San Saturnino, what did he do to deserve this? Not that it matters to most people, as they wouldn't even know who San Fermín is, let alone San Saturnino. Most people to the fiesta just worship Sangria rather than any Saint and if it wasn't for the local people holding onto the traditions they would vanish altogether to be swallowed up by an enormous rock festival.
The fiesta is in peril.
