Kukuxumusu is celebrating Sanfermin 2007 in several different ways: with the "Kalimotxo de Mamá" with Pablo Carbonell, Juanma Bajo Ulloa and Mikel Urmeneta; with a television through Internet dedicated to Sanfermin; and with a special drawing "Por el Bull", a particular view of the running of the bulls seen on a tee shirt specially made for the fiestas.
"Por el Bull" is the special Kukuxumusu offer in the form of a tee shirt which Kukuxumusu is launching for the fiestas. Yet another year when The Drawing Factory takes another look at the running of the bulls, with their inimitable style, where the bulls and the runners stand out in the most emblematic event of the fiestas - but with a heavy dose of humour added on. This tee shirt makes the nineteenth in a row that the firm has produced each year for the fiestas.
Sanfermin.com/TV is a new initiative to coincide with the tenth anniversary of Kukuxumusu on Internet. This anniversary has stimulated The Drawing Factory to look for even better means of providing some fun and information about the Sanfermin fiestas. Under the sponsorship of Euskaltel, and with the collaboration of Cuatro TV and Euskal Telebista Basque TV, this new project has already begun and it is now possible to see various audiovisuals on different aspects of the fiestas.
Kukuxumusu will show the running of the bulls each day, it will present videos of some of the most important events and it will have some comedy pieces where the Kukuxumusu sense of humour will be evident, as in the case of "The Moon also Rises" which will be broadcast in chapters over the festival period. The blue bull will also be very present in "Zezena Klips". There are also some historical images to be seen at "Pre-history" and of course, plenty of material on the running of the bulls. Some of the most spectacular runs of the last years may be seen in the "Encierro" section.
The aim of Sanfermin.com/TV is to provide a service for a wide range of Internet surfers. That is why there will be a lot of variety within its content. But, above all, it hopes to entertain and amuse. Kukuxumusu sees the Sanfermin fiestas as a place of entertainment that can appeal to people all over the world who are looking for fun and spectacle; even if they don't really know much about the annual fiestas in Iruñea/Pamplona.
The second main aim of the web page is to provide guidance and help about the Sanfermin fiestas. To give a complete description of all the main events which take place. Thirdly and fourthly, as well as keeping surfers informed, it is hoped to provoke the participation of surfers. The new channel sees the participation of the surfer as something essential. So, videos may be sent in, original or otherwise, participation in competitions...etc. in short, they surfer should become a direct participant in the construction and development of this new TV platform.
And that is not all the novelties related to the new technologies for these fiestas.
Kukuxumusu has also updated its web page - Sanfermin.com. Here, there will be a wide deployment of information and photos over the nine days of the fiestas. In addition, in partnership with Playboy magazine, they have created their First International Erotic Photography Competition. Here, they hope to award the best photo which can link the fiesta with eroticism in an artistic way. Finally, a novelty which can found at Second Life section: On the 7 of 7 of 7 Kukuxumusu will give away tee shirts of 777 and of "Por el Bull" in this virtual world of Internet. In order to get the garments, the surfer should get to Kukuxumusu territory and touch the giant tee shirt which can be found there.
The other big novelty created by Kukuxumusu for Sanfermin 2007 has been the production of "El Kalimotxo de Mamá", a theme composed and interpreted by Pablo Carbonell and whose video clip was filmed by Juanma Bajo Ulloa the film director, back in May in the streets of Iruñea/Pamplona.
In less than two months since its launching, the song has already managed to place itself among the most -listened to on Internet, where it has had more than 200,000 visits on the Youtube video site.
Mikel Urmeneta, the creative director of Kukuxumusu, got the idea when he heard Pablo Carbonell humming the tune one night. He immediately felt that this could be a theme which fitted into the philosophy and spirit of Kukuxumusu and he encouraged Carbonell to record it and bring it on the market as an ideal fun song for all the fans of Kukuxumusu.
Once the song was recorded - in three different versions - Juanma Bajo Ulloa joined the project and made a video clip in the streets of Pamplona. A month and a half later and half the world have heard the song "El Kalimotxo de Mamá", and when the fiestas take off it will be heard all over the town.
The single, with the three recorded versions as well as the video clip can be had at any Kukuxumusu store for any purchases made higher than 30€, and it is also given away with the "Etiqueta" tee shirt, the same one that Pablo Carbonell is wearing on the video clip of the song.
