This row of stands was found near the
old part of town. They were all sorts of organizations
which got permission to open a food and drink stand
during the days of the Festival. In this way they used
to make some money to finance their organization during
the rest of the year. They used to put out heavy music
and attract a largely young crowd. They served very
cheap sandwiches and drink comparing to other places.
They organized an alternative program, which consisted
basically in rock or heavy music concerts. They took
place in the middle of the stands and you could go for
free. We must use the past tense because the Pamplona
City Hall has managed to put an end to them. During
these last few years it has being constantly changing
their location and making evermore tough demands on
them. Each year there is an effort made to reinstall
them but it seems to get no further than sterile talk.
