CHARANGAS

The name Charangas or Txarangas is given to those brass bands that you meet up with all over the streets of the old part of town.

The best ones by far belong to the Peñas, well armed to make the loudest possible amount of noise with their big drums and brass pieces. There are others, more professional, who are signed up by the Town Hall to grace the streets with their music.

Many of the "Peñas" also have a premises which serves as a public bar during the Fiesta.
