Pushed by the horn

The entrance passage to the bullring is a part of the course where some spectacular running can sometimes be seen because the Bulls are arriving rather more separated from each other and because few runners can keep up with the pace of the Bulls. Yesterday’s run had a moment – perhaps the most dramatic moment of the whole course – when a runner came into the entrance with one bull to his side and another stuck up behind him. As the runner kept pace with the bull by his side, the other bull caught up with him and placed his horn on his back, pushing him forward lightly – so lightly that it did not even cause any contusion.

The sequence was caught by photographer Juantxo Erce.
