Three runners gored – two of them suffer a triple goring

Of the three runners gored in the Miura Running of the Bulls today, two of them suffered a triple goring hoy, and both of them are in a serious condition. One of them is a 26 year-old Australian with the initials J.B. and the other is a 21 year-old from  Burlada (Navarra) with the initials E.G.E.

The Australian runner has suffered  3 gorings – one is a superficial wound – despite the dramatic images – to his left thigh. This has been treated  by plastic surgery. His other gorings are to the thorax area and to his abdominal area. No vital organs are affected and his life is not in danger.

The year-old from Burlada is also in serious condition after receiving gorings to his gluteal area – see photo above – but his life is not in danger.

The third gored runner is another Australian, who was gored in Estafeta. This runner is a 24 year old with the initials  J.M. He suffered a light goring to his right thigh and has already received a discharge from hospital.

In addition, four other runners were taken off to hospital for treatment for different traumatisms but all of them have now been discharged.
